With the aim of developing 17 most-needy villages nationwide, National Bank of Egypt signs a cooperation protocol with Misr El Kheir Foundation
Development efforts cover treatment of 25,000 Hepatitis C patients during 2017
Mr. Hisham Okasha, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) signed a cooperation protocol with Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El Kheir Foundation, for developing seventeen villages across the country under the name "National Bank of Egypt's Villages Project".
The Protocol seeks to implement a set of development-oriented activities and works including comprehensive development and rehabilitation of schools and health care units in these villages in addition to supplying the necessary facilities.
The Protocol further includes providing potable water supply and electricity networks; enhancing environmental conditions; upgrading the constructional efficiency of houses; and supplying villagers with the basic furnishings. Besides, the Protocol aims to launch regular medical convoys and conduct medical surveillance for almost 135,000 villagers under the umbrella of NBE's Project.
This surveillance will include medical examinations, analyses and imaging; identifying Hepatitis C patients; and scheduling treatment programs for 25,000 infected patients within the year 2017 along with supplying the required medicine, supervising the medication process and following up patients until the end of the program and full recovery.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mahmoud Montasser and Mr. Yehia Abu El-Fotouh – Deputy Chairmen, Mr. Hussein Refaie – Executive Director and Ms. Nermin Shehab Eldin – Head of Marketing, Institutional Communication and Society Support Programs from the side of NBE, and Mr. Abdel Aziz Ali – Managing Director, and Ms. Amal Mobdy – Head of Resource Development Division from the side of Misr El Kheir Foundation in addition to the heads of competent divisions of both sides.
